A new proximity access controller has been released that provides access control using HID proximity cards.

The EA-P3 from Southco is a useful system that is convenient and secure, producing standard output for easy integration.

The device features a sealed, weather-resistant design and can be combined with the company’s EA-P1 Pin/Prox reader for a complete access control system. An integrated LED provides visual feedback of card acceptance, and it works with any access control or security system that accepts Wiegand input and is simple to install, set-up and operate.

The solution is well suited to applications needing a simplified, affordable access control device that uses existing HID access cards.

The proximity reader provides secure, non-contact access control in a compact, easy-to-use design.

It reads 125kHz HID compatible proximity cards and produces a standard output common to most systems. It is easily integrated with most existing building access control systems.
