Offering corrosion resistance up to 1000 hours, impact resistance up to 7 joules, and with IP68 testing performed after impact testing, these electronic boxes are the best yet from Deltron Enclosures.

The Corrosion and Impact Resistant range is manufactured from GD-AlSi12 which incorporates less than 0.3% copper to deliver a longer lifespan than other die cast aluminium enclosures on the market. The boxes are then passivated prior to paint and dried for 48 hours before electrostatically coating.

“Since launching the range we have seen demand increase month-on-month as engineers search for an enclosure that offers a longer lifespan”, commented Tom Downing, Product Manager at Deltron Enclosures. “Tests show that, unlike other aluminium enclosures, the coating is not essential to preventing corrosion, so minor scratches will not reduce the lifespan; this is a particularly useful feature in a heavy duty enclosure.

“Furthermore, although the enclosures are certified to 1000 hours in salt spray, the initial testing continued for a total of 18 weeks without any sign of corrosion at the end of this; the engineers only stopped the test due to other projects that needed to take place.”

The enclosures are ideal for environments with high levels of electrolytes such as marine or buried applications, or in areas where the enclosure is susceptible to knocks. Such sectors include automotive, telecoms and leisure, plus factories where equipment is frequently washed down for sanitisation.

Ten sizes are available with IP68 or IP66 in grey, black or red. Deltron Enclosures can machine these boxes to meet your specification and prepare them for immediate termination once on site.
