A new 7ins WVGA TFT display module has been developed by Hitachi Europe, Display Products Group (DPG). The new device features a 15:9 wide aspect ratio, a display resolution of 800 by 480 pixels and is capable of a high level of optical performance in a compact form factor. The TX18D44VM2BAA features a standard and bright 400cd/m2 LED backlight providing a 40K hour half brightness lifetime and a contrast ratio of 400:1 which enables bright, clear images and information to be displayed. It is electrically compatible with the company’s existing WVGA TFT display modules, and features an industry standard 40-pin six-bit RGB CMOS interface which enables a colour palette of up to 262K colours. Typical applications include epos terminals, test and measurement equipment, portable media terminals and data logging systems.
