Amphenol distributor Inelco Hunter has announced the availability of the AX Series Colour Coded Sleeve System for the industry-standard XLR plug and socket connectors.
The XLR audio connector design was developed by Amphenol in 1995 and it is now the globally-accepted standard in the audio industry. Available in 10 colours, the AX sleeves can be supplied in bulk for field assembly and marking, or factory pre-assembled.
Amphenol’s XLR AX Series of plug and socket connectors incorporates an ergonomic sleeve designed for excellent grip. The connectors feature chuck-type cable clamping to suit 3mm to 8mm cable outside diameters.
The XLR plugs and sockets feature gold-plated contacts and are available in 3 to 7 pin configurations. The Mini XLR connectors also feature gold-plated contacts and are available in 3 to 6 pin configurations.
The XLR 1/4” Combo connectors have a low profile or a C-type profile. The 1/4” chassis features vertical/horizontal gold or silver contacts. The chassis provides 360° grounding with a four-point rivet fixing and is available in a nickel or black zinc housing. They are available in 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A options.
