  • New Product – Mouser Now Shipping Microchip Technology’s EV42J24A Evaluation Kit for Rapidly Developing Root of Trust Solutions

MR691AMicrochipEV42J24AEvaluation Kit The Latest News from Mouser ElectronicsMouser is now stocking the CEC173x Evaluation Kit (EV42J24A) from Microchip Technology. The EV42J24A is an evaluation and development kit for the CEC173x Trust Shield family of platform root of trust controllers. The EV42J24A features an 84-pin socket for flexible evaluation of CEC1736 or CEC1734 devices in 84-pin packages. The EV42J24A includes three samples of each of the CEC1736-TFLX, CEC1736-TCSM, CEC1734-TFLX, and CEC1734-TCSM Trust Shield platform root of trust controllers. Together with the Trust Platform Design Suite (TPDS) tool, the kit enables rapid prototyping and development of NIST and OCP recommended security features: secure boot, secure update, crisis recovery, attestation, SPI monitor, and transfer of ownership. This Evaluation Kit also features a MEC1723 embedded controller to emulate a host processor, SPI Flash memory for both normal operation and failure scenarios, and connectors designed to interface with external application processors. For debugging and programming, the EV42J24A kit includes one 1×8 PICKIT4 header for CEC173x and one 1×8 PICKIT4 header for the MEC1723. The kit allows users to evaluate and test security features for external root of trust (EROT) implementation in data centres, telecom, and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms and applications.

  • New Product – Mouser Now Offering Kingston’s KSM64 DDR5 SDRAM Memory Modules, Supporting High-Performance Computing

MR691AKingstonKSM64DDR5SDRAM The Latest News from Mouser ElectronicsMouser is now shipping the KSM64 DDR5 SDRAM memory modules from Kingston. The DDR5 SDRAM memory modules deliver higher performance, lower energy consumption, and more robust data integrity than equivalent DDR4 modules. These modules include 32 internal banks, increasing efficiency by allowing more pages to be open at the same time. While DDR4 tops out at 3200MT/s, DDR5 starts at 4800MT/s — a 50% increase in bandwidth under JEDEC industry standard specifications — and has planned standard speeds that will scale to 8800MT/s. The modules feature on-die error correction code (ECC), which corrects bit errors in the DRAM chip and improves reliability. These memory modules also feature hard/soft post-package repair and sideband access with I3C/I2C. With a typical power supply of 1.1V, the DDR5 memory modules consume 20% less power than equivalent DDR4 components. These modules feature a typical output stage drain power voltage of 1.1V and a typical peak-to-peak voltage of 1.8V. The DDR5 SDRAM memory modules are UL 94 V-0 rated, RoHS-compliant, and operate within a temperature range of 0°C to 95°C. These modules meet the needs of high-performance systems for Edge computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), gaming computers, industrial applications, content creation workstations, and servers and data centres.
