Mouser is now stocking the Vela IF820 Bluetooth 5.4 dual-mode modules from Laird Connectivity. Addressing the ever-evolving needs of modern Bluetooth applications, these modules combine the benefits of Infineon Technologies’ low-power, high-performance AIROC CYW20820 silicon, hardware, software and other tools with Laird Connectivity’s robust, value-added application software, services, certification and support capabilities. The IF820 series offers a full range of dual-mode, flexible modules, adapters and development kits (DVKs) that enable a single module to cover legacy Classic Bluetooth and migration to Bluetooth LE v5.4 with a single part. The integrated solution helps drive down overall cost, design complexity and risk while increasing design flexibility and accelerating time to market for a variety of dual mode Bluetooth IoT designs. Targeting both hosted and host-less applications, the Vela IF820 series includes multiple small form factor PCB modules to suit any host board footprint. The modules contain an ARM Cortex-M4 core, a 2.4 GHz radio and a wide range of MCU peripherals. The Vela IF820 series is complemented by low-cost, easy-to-use development kits and a certified, packaged USB adapter. The IF820 modules are available from Mouser in three hardware options and are specified at an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. These modules operate at 2.6V to 3.3V supply voltage range. Ideal applications include home automation, asset tracking devices, secure medical peripherals and industrial IoT sensor networks.

Mouser is gearing up to sponsor the 2024 DS PENSKE Formula E racing team as they begin Season 10 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez track in Mexico City on 13 January. Mouser is sponsoring the team throughout the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship racing season in collaboration with TTI, Inc. and valued manufacturers Molex and KYOCERA AVX. The DS PENSKE team will be racing the third-generation Formula E DS E-TENSE FE23, which combines high performance with efficiency and stability. The all-electric cars feature a top speed of 280 kph and are 60 kg lighter than previous generations.   • New Product – Mouser Now Stocking TDK InvenSense IIM-20670 MotionTracking MEMS Device, Supporting Industrial, Drone, and Robotics Applications

The IIM-20670 MotionTracking MEMS device from TDK InvenSense, now available from Mouser, is a robust SmartIndustrial 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) for tilt and stabilisation applications. This device consists of a monolithic 6-axis IMU, a 3-axis accelerometer, and a 3-axis gyroscope. It offers shock robustness, as well as the ability to measure all six axes simultaneously while maintaining current consumption below 10 mA under all operating conditions. The IIM-20670 features programmable digital filters and a 10 MHz SPI interface capable of assessing data integrity using a CRC-based error-detecting code algorithm. This device offers an accelerometer thermal stability of 1.7 µg/C, accelerometer bias repeatability of 1 mg, and a programmable output of 64 G. The new MEMS device is RoHS and Green compliant and is housed in a compact DQFN package, making it ideal for space-constrained applications. The IIM-20670 supports industrial applications requiring extreme stability over temperature and strong immunity to vibration, and is an ideal choice for industrial automation, 5G platforms, robotics, and industrial and agricultural drones. The DK-20670 development kit, also available from Mouser, is a demonstration and evaluation platform for the IIM-20670 MotionTracking MEMS device and provides an example application circuit, allowing rapid prototyping when incorporated into existing designs.
