Application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design and supply specialist Swindon Silicon Systems, a Sensata Technologies company, will showcase its full turnkey ASIC development model at the Engineering Design Show 2026 on stand E17.
The event will take place at the Coventry Building Society Arena from 7 to 8 October and will bring together engineers from across the embedded, electronic and mechanical design disciplines.
Decisions made at the silicon level shape a product’s power budget, board space and long-term supportability long before it reaches production. Where a standard component meets most, but not all, of an application’s requirements, an ASIC can replace several discrete parts with a single purpose-built device, giving engineers direct control over the specification rather than working around the limits of what is already on the shelf.
At the show, Swindon Silicon Systems will explain its full turnkey approach to ASIC development, supporting customers from design, production test and long-term supply. By working with a single partner throughout the ASIC lifecycle, customers can reduce the technical and commercial risk with moving away from standard components.
“The Engineering Design Show brings embedded, electronic and mechanical design disciplines under one roof,” said Joe Gilfillan, senior design engineer at Swindon Silicon Systems. “A component-level trade-off that looks straightforward from an electronics perspective can look completely different once enclosure space or firmware constraints are taken into account. Bringing these disciplines together at one show enables a more informed conversation.”
“We are encouraging potential customers attending the show to bring a board or specification sheet to the stand and discuss whether a custom silicon solution may be appropriate for their application directly with an ASIC design engineer.”
Joe Gilfillan, senior design engineer, will be available on stand E17 throughout the show to discuss specific design challenges, from early feasibility questions to component-level trade-offs. Crissie O’Bey, sales and marketing associate, will also be available to help engineers arrange a more detailed follow-up with the wider team.
