Throughout 2025, Schreiner ProTech, a Germany-based developer and manufacturer of innovative functional labels with value-added benefits, has addressed the evolving needs of automotive and intrustrial sector manufacturers with enhancements to several of its solutions categories.
The company’s portfolio additions address a wide variety of issues impacting these sectors; for example, rapid growth in the electric mobility segment, and growing electronic density that places premiums on lightweight design, component protection and media resistance.
Schreiner ProTech’s pressure compensation and protection portfolio answers calls for production-friendly solutions that can be precisely integrated into existing systems while delivering permanent, reliable performance. Schreiner ProTech’s innovations in 2025 include:
Modular kit for challenging pressure compensation solutions
For modern electronics and sensor housings, combining air circulation with permanent protection for sensitive components is paramount. The PCS HighProtect kit addresses these needs with a selection of rugged, film-based pressure compensation seals enabling precise customisation to suit design space, loads and process environments.
For customers, PCS HighProtect solutions provide high levels of functional reliability and minimal process risks. The variants produced under cleanroom conditions satisfy Technical Cleanliness requirements, while complementary application solutions enable easy integration into automated lines to shorten and simplfy production steps.
Film-based covers as integrated lightweight design closures
For applications with small design spaces, the company’s Film-Based Cover (FBC) is an alternative to classic plastic covers. The flat, lightweight cover eliminates the need for a separate component and, this year, Schreiner ProTech has enhanced the solution with additional functions like pressure compensation seals and marking capabilities.
The Film-Based Cover’s laser welding ensures permanent bonding, and its roll-based packing is conducive to automated manufacturing setups. Customisable shapes, materials and sizes enable precise adaptation for specific electronic housing and sensor requirements. Compared to conventional covers, the FBCs reduce both tooling costs and component complexity.
Protective films for large displays
A solution for OEMs and suppliers tasked with validating sensitive surfaces—as well as manufacturers seeking lean, automatable assembly processes—Schreiner ProTech’s slightly adhesive, large-sized display protection solution was a welcome newcomer to its protective films portfolio. A special adhesive reliably sticks to display glasses, and can be removed without leaving any residues—even in the case of challenging pillar-to-pillar geometries. The film’s antistatic finish protects sensitive electronics, while its high transparency enables functional testing underneath. Compatibility with printing and lasering processes allow markings to be made directly onto the protective medium.
For 2026, Schreiner ProTech is planning additional extensions to its film-based functional solutions portfolio, including enhanced integration of materials development, process automation and customer projects.
