OKW has launched DATEC-COMPACT, a brand new range of UV-stable IP 65 rated handheld enclosures for outdoor electronics.
DATEC-COMPACT is aimed at applications including mobile data recording and transfer, measuring and control, stock and sales logging plus digital control technology.
These modern and ergonomic cases are the first from OKW to feature integrated contacts as an option – providing an all-in solution for charging and data transfer when using the accessory desk stations and wall holders.
The desk stations act as receptacles for holding the cases when not in use, and can be used for recharging and data download. The stations can also be machined for fitting power inlets, USB connectors etc. The wall holders can also be mounted to machine housings. For example, when the case is being used as a cable connected handheld controller. The bottom of the holder is open to allow the control cable to pass neatly through.
All units in the range – enclosures, desk stations and wall holders – can be specified with built-in contacts. Options for the cases also include battery compartments for 3 x 1.5 V AAA or AA cells.
DATEC-COMPACT is available in three standard sizes: 136 x 74 x 32 mm (size S), 172 x 92 x 39 mm (size M) and 206 x 110 x 47 mm (size L). The top section features a large recess to accommodate a membrane keypad or product label.
All parts are moulded in ASA+PC-FR flame retardant plastic (UL 94 V-0) for added strength and UV stability when used outside. Cases are assembled with tamperproof Torx T10 stainless steel screws.
The enclosures, desk stations and wall holders are available in two standard colours: Off-white, RAL 9002 and Lava Grey. Custom colours are available on request.
Accessories include a AAA or AA battery contact kits, male contacts (for the desk station or wall holder), female contacts (for the case), non-slip feet, PCB screws and a Torx T10 screwdriver.
OKW can supply the DATEC-COMPACT enclosures fully customised and ready for mounting the electronic components and assemblies. Options also include CNC milling and drilling, EMC shielding, silk-screen and tampo printing of legends and logos plus assembly of components.
