The Northern Manufacturing & Electronics Show returns to Manchester’s EventCity on October 1st and 2nd 2014. Last year’s tremendously successful debut quickly cemented the event’s reputation as the top exhibition in the North for electronics. With around 20% more exhibitors this year, the show looks set echo the success of its Southern sibling.
One of the secrets behind the success of Southern Electronics is that the wide variety of exhibitors gives visitors the opportunity to cover a lot of ground very efficiently. Northern Manufacturing & Electronics follows exactly the same principle, hosting a broad cross-section of the UK Electronics business, together with a wide variety of related products and services from general industry such as sheet metal working, consumables and production equipment. Over 250 firms will be taking part this year, virtually guaranteeing something of interest for everyone even remotely involved with engineering.
Its location close to the centre of Manchester makes it highly accessible by public transport, road or air and within easy reach of the substantial number of electronics firms located across the North, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Eire. Major regional industrial activities include aerospace, medical technology and advanced electronics, which in turn supports a large number of second and third tier suppliers, many of whom will be present at the show.
CEMS are well represented, with firms such as Eurotech Group, Datalink Electronics, UK Electronics, SIC, LCL Electronics, Zeal Electronics, ViaSat and many more. Amongst the new exhibitors for 2014 are Cornelius Electronics and Parotec Solutions.
The show delivers probably the most comprehensive marketplace in the North for components and sub-assemblies of all sorts. DMS technologies, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of batteries and charging systems, showcases some of its tailor-made, battery packs based on various technologies such as Sealed Lead Acid, NiMH, NiCd and Lithium. PowerPax exhibits its extensive selection of power conversion products, including AC-DC PSUs in numerous formats including PCB mounting and miniature low cost 1W to 5W series. LEMO will launch its latest sub-miniature connectors at Northern Electronics 2014. LEMO has packaged 5 contacts into its tiny 00 series for which the plug diameter is just a nominal 6mm, helping to make this product perfect for projects requiring a tiny, yet tough connector.
The Midas Group will put over 230 different products on display, representing its entire range of display, sensor, and
The show is also a great place to see the latest test and inspection technologies. Cupio Yestech Europe returns with its range of inspection, measurement and test solutions. Its new VuData Statistical Process Analyser software package greatly improves visibility of real-time AOI inspection trends and alarm conditions, with essential longer-term yield improvement tools. Prospect42 will exhibit its innovative rapid component-counting system, TalliScan. Other production equipment suppliers include Bondline, a prominent UK vendor of static control products.
The free seminar programme is an additional reason to visit EventCity. Within a busy two-day programme, presenters from a number of prominent organisations talk about a number of technical and operational subject areas in a series of hour-long sessions running over both days of the show. As with the show, entry to the seminar sessions is free, making this an outstanding opportunity to listen to world-class presenters illustrate the most recent concepts in manufacturing, engineering and industrial management.
Admittance to Northern Manufacturing & Electronics 2014 is free to business visitors, and EventCity provides 3000 free on-site car parking spaces, with easy accessibility by road or public transport.
