2 medium New toggle switch for material handling applicationsAPEM, a global manufacturer of high quality man-machine interface products, has announced its new completely sealed 3500 series toggle switch, the toughest toggle in the industry. The series 3500 is ideal for use in outdoor applications, and especially well-suited for the needs of the material handling markets – from lift to move. Tail lifts, cranes, wireless remotes, cargo loaders, and transporters are just a few of the many material handling applications for which the 3500 series is suited.

With its proven reliability in severe conditions, including exposure to rain, snow, dirt, salt and other corrosive agents, the 3500 toggle carries an electrical life of 10,000 cycles at 15 amperes (A), 28 volts of direct current (VDC) and a mechanical life of 40,000 cycles. Operating temperatures range from -40°F to +185°F.

The 3500 series is available with screw, solder lug, and quick connect, and comes with several actuator options, including a flatted style and a fluorescent tip for visibility under adverse glare conditions. Locking actuator styles are also available for critical safety applications where deliberate action is required to actuate the switch, or where positive resistance against excessive shock or vibration is essential.

Single and double pole models of the series 3500 are offered in an extensive range of electrical configurations, including initial contact resistance of 10 megaohm (M?) maximum at 1A 2VDC, insulation resistance of 1.000 M?, and dielectric strength of 2.500 root-mean-square voltage (Vrms) 50 hertz (Hz) minimum between terminals and frame.
