A new era begins with the 60A high-voltage automotive relay, the latest member of the space-saving EV relays family from Panasonic. With a size of 64mm x 33mm x 52.8mm, it is the smallest real EV relay. Through consistent further development of the already very successful Panasonic EV series, it was possible to reduce the size by 44% compared to its predecessor. Despite its very small size, the AEVG relay has an improved short-circuit current capacity of 4500A for 10ms. The load contacts of the AEVG16012 have no polarity.
This allows designers to realize simpler and more cost-effective geometries for bus bars and packages. Panasonic’s EV relays are equipped with a hermetically sealed ceramic chamber filled with hydrogen gas. This construction guarantees a high breaking capacity and also protects the contacts from negative external influences, thus ensuring a high performance over the complete service life of the relay.
