Mouser Electronics is now stocking the Mini-Fit Sr connectors from Molex. For use in wire-to-wire and wire-to-board applications, the Mini-Fit Sr. Connectors are a powerful extension to Molex’s popular Mini-Fit family. This high-current cabling interconnect system is capable of handling up to 50A, and offers outstanding electrical reliability and a significant cost savings over a broad range of applications.

The Molex Mini-Fit Sr. connectors, available from Mouser Electronics, are based on a dual-beam female terminal design consisting of four points of contact to ensure superb electrical contact performance and reliability. All the connectors in the Mini-Fit Sr. family feature silver-plated contacts and a polarized housing; the contacts offer significant cost-savings over gold-plated systems to help avoid the need to manually lubricate tin-plated versions to reduce fretting corrosion, while the polarized housing prevents connector mis-mating of the header and receptacle or plug and receptacle. To prevent accidental un-mating, the connectors also offer a positive locking feature that ensures secure retention when the receptacle and header or receptacle and plug are mated. Other features of the Mini-Fit Sr. connectors include a Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) retainer to ensure that the terminals are fully seated in the housings to help reduce the risk of terminal back out, and fully isolated header pins and plug receptacle terminals to protect against potential damage during handling and mating.

When it comes to supporting high-power requirements, Molex’s Mini-Fit Sr. family offers up to 50A per circuit using 8 AWG wire, making the connectors an extremely robust, high-amperage interconnect solution for a variety of industrial, consumer, telecommunications, medical, power supply, and automotive applications.

Molex’s Mini-Fit Sr. Connectors are available now through Mouser Electronics in 2 to 14 positions, and are offered in either a thermoplastic or nylon housing material. All the connectors are RoHS-compliant and are UL, CSA, and TUV certified.
