Now in its 8th year and firmly established as the UK’s leading event for small and ultra precision technology, the Micro Nano MEMS exhibition will return to the NEC, Birmingham from 28th – 29th September 2016.

Featuring a wide range of exhibitors showcasing the very latest technologies and solutions, the event will provide design engineers with the information and knowledge required to optimise micro and nano manufacturing opportunities in this fast developing field.

Organised by Datateam Business Media, home to the Connecting Industry portfolio of 12 leading industrial magazines, websites and associated social media channels, the event offers visitors a one-stop-shop for small and ultra-precision process technology. From laser micro-machining through to micro injection moulding, and from MEMS fabrication, through to assembly, inspection and test equipment, it really does cover the full spectrum of technologies.

The Innovation Showcase feature was launched last year and was such a hit that it is to be expanded in 2016 to include even more exhibits and live demonstrations. Connecting Industry’s managing editor, Neil Mead was instrumental in its launch and is looking forward to developing it further this time: “We will actively encourage exhibitors wherever possible to feature technology demonstrations, allowing visitors to compare and contrast in a live environment,” he says.

The Micro Nano MEMS seminar programme is characterised by high quality presentations from leading users of the technologies and industry commentators from across the globe.

Exhibition sales manager, Jacqui Henderson, comments: “Those of you who were there to share the success of Micro Nano MEMS 2015 will remember what great hit the seminar programme was – each one was well attended with fantastic interaction at the Q&A sessions following the seminars. This also offers a fantastic opportunity for exhibitors to get involved.”

Exhibitors confirmed so far include one of the oldest micro-moulding companies in the world, Accumold; plastic injection specialist Celoplas; Laser Micromachining, which specialises in the rapid development, prototyping and volume production of high quality micro-parts in all materials; Laserlines, a leading supplier of lasers and accessories, 3D printers, rapid prototyping machines and vacuum casting systems; Optimax, described as ‘the home of optical inspection and non-contact measuring equipment’; PI (Physik Instrumente), a leading provider of precision motion and positioning systems; and

Oxford Lasers, which designs and manufactures high speed imaging systems for particle, droplet and bubble size measurement, as well as micro machining systems.

Commenting on behalf of Laser Micromachining, Dr. Nadeem Rizvi, explains why Micro Nano MEMS is such an important event: “Engineers working on new product ideas can find precision manufacturing solutions from a diverse range of suppliers and they can also gain useful insights to emerging technologies from the wide range of seminar presentations. It brings together the best of the UK and international technologies in the Micro Nano MEMS fields.”

Aaron Johnson vice president of marketing and customer strategy at Accumold says: “Over the years we have had great success meeting new customers. If you’re at all interested in micro technologies I encourage you to check out this event.”

Jacqui concludes, “The 2016 Micro Nano MEMS exhibition has so much to offer, so as an exhibitor or a visitor – I hope to see you there.”
