A new independent electronic component distributor has stepped on to the scene. Part of the Paragon Electronics group, Vigilant Components provides component sourcing, testing, counterfeit detection and verification services plus supply chain management and point-of-use delivery options for the electronics manufacturing sector. The company comes with full ISO9001 and AS9120 accreditation, and was established to address industry issues such as extended component lead times and component obsolescence and provide services for component inspection, verification, counterfeit detection and avoidance. Graham Smith, Managing Director of Paragon’s Electronics Division, said: “As a company we know that issues such as increasing lead-times and obsolescence mean that electronics buyers often have to look outside traditional franchised electronic distributors to solve their component shortages and by launching Vigilant we aim to provide solutions for these and offer additional services beyond simply sourcing and shipping products.”
