M12 has now become the key standard for data transfer in control and automation equipment, particularly in the field of industrial automation. While RJ45 is still used in control boxes and distribution boards, the growing use of the Ethernet in industry has opened up a number of applications for robust, secure M12 connectors. With the male and female M12 x 1.5 thread, M12 connectors and jacks provide a secure, reliable connection, which makes this technology ideal for tough conditions and environments. The METZ CONNECT M12 range includes solderable, X- and D-coded board level jacks (top and side entry variants suitable for device wall thicknesses of 2.5 mm – 5mm), X-coded plugs for field assembly, corresponding 4 and 8 pin cable assemblies, cable connectors, sealing plugs and M12-RJ45 couplers.
