Seminar program focuses on board testing and device programming

JTAG Technologies, the leading specialist in JTAG/boundary-scan solutions for board testing and device programming are excited to announce a forthcoming seminar program with technology partner Everett Charles Technologies an Xcerra company.

Introduction
The requirements for testing and programming boards built in the UK has evolved in the past ten years. Components, board functionality and device programming requirements have all altered the way we think about testing and programming today’s PCB assemblies. This seminar program will highlight some of the new ways of thinking about test, accessing your UUT and programming devices in the most efficient manner.

Accessing your target
With a world-wide presence ECT – Everett Charles Technologies – is a familiar name to all those in electronics production and test. They offer rapid turnaround on customized test fixtures with a European factory offering a comprehensive product range from 3D board-less test fixture design for general purpose/benchtop JTAG applications through to full ICT total (turnkey) solutions. ECT have worked with JTAG technologies on a number of turn-key test and programming solutions and will be presenting the latest advances on board access and fixture technology.

JTAG/Boundary-scan – the universal test solution
JTAG/Boundary-scan (IEEE 1149) has, for over 25 years, provided a low-cost and efficient method for testing and programming digital designs. Latest JTAG hardware now supports analog and frequency measurements plus bespoke functional interfaces to improve testing on mixed signal boards. When coupled with an ECT fixture solution a cost effective test and programming station can be developed in weeks.

What the seminar will include
• Introduction to boundary-scan testing and programming
• A guide on mixed signal testing using boundary-scan
• Device in-system programming techniques – with examples
• Automated Test Fixture Design
• Benchtop fixturing overview
• Integration of test equipment into fixtures
• Re-configuration (cassette- based) solution
• Software for ATE & turn-key options
