Solectrix’s System-on-Chip starter packs facilitate SoC-development
Miniaturization of devices, interference resistance, better resistance against lack of components – there are lots of relevant reasons to combine several device functions in one chip. Therefore the Embedded World 2019 exhibition appearance of the embedded engineering experts from Nuremberg based Solectrix GmbH (NürnbergMesse 26.-28th Feb, hall 4A-152) is run under the motto “Invent your SoC”. In order to facilitate the invention of System-on-Chip solutions for other development engineers as well, the Solectrix team will present two System-on-Chip starter packs at Embedded World 2019: The “SXoM Starter Kit” for hardware-oriented SoC solutions and the “SX Mobile Device Kit” for multicore solutions, in which the integration is predominantly software-based.
The “SXoM Starter Kit” for entry into technical developments up to the breadboard or a first prototype of an application consists of a SXoM MS2-K7 SMARC 2.0 module from Solectrix, an evaluation board from Congatec and a full set of peripheral and evaluation equipment. The board has a large number of standard interfaces. The high-performance chipset comes from the Zynq-7000 series from Xilinx. The SoC system on which this kit is based forms, for example, the backbone of the modular image data grabber solution for ADAS and HiL applications, as well as other solutions for processing real-time capable 4K video data streams from Solectrix.
For the first time, Solectrix presents its “Mobile Device Kit” (MDK) as a platform for the entry into the development of a mobile ARM-based embedded system. The focus is on mobile image processing applications. The MDK can be extended by connecting various image sensors to suit a dedicated customer application. The heart of the versatile platform is an NXP i.MX8M Mini-CPU. Both board support packages based on Linux and Android are available for the MDK. Solectrix offers hardware and software adaptations for the MDK as a service, thus tailoring it precisely to customer 
requirements. Scandit AG, the leading company for mobile data capture such as barcode-scanning of the highest quality or text and object recognition, will be one of the first companies using the MDK.
