Inelco Hunter, distributor for ProTek Devices, has announced the PAM3CAN36 device for Two CAN Bus Lines of Circuit Protection in Automotive Applications. The PAM3CAN36 has been specifically designed to protect two automotive controller area Network (CAN) bus lines from the damaging effects of ESD and other electrical transients.

The device is available in a JEDEC SOT-23 package configuration. It is AEC-Q101 Qualified compatible with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): ±8kV Contact, ±15kV Air. It is also compatible with IEC61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A, 5/50ns and IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge): 1.5A, 8/20μs. It features 80 Watts Peak Pulse Power per Line(tp = 8/20μs). It has a low clamping voltage, low leakage current and low capacitance.

The approximate weight is 8 milligrams. It is lead-free Pure-Tin Plating (Annealed) and is RoHS and REACH compliant. The Solder Reflow Temperature is:

Pure-Tin – Sn, 100: 260-270°C. The Flammability Rating is UL 94V-0. The devices are supplied on an 8mm Tape and Reel meeting EIA Standard 481.
