A range of relays from Barnbrook Systems targeted at different rail applications is now in stock at Aerco, the distributor and stockist of electrical and electronic components servicing hi-rel markets.
Hermetically sealed BV series relays meet BR specifications with regards to tracking and clearances. The anti-vibration characteristics also comply with BR specifications. The mouldings are made from flame retardant polyester. Available in four pole format (2M2C) and eight pole format (4M4C), the products feature gold plated silver alloy contacts and are suitable for both inductive and resistive loads (inductive 2A at 110Vdc, resistive 16A at 110Vdc). Further technical details include a pull in voltage of 72Vdc at 20°C, a drop-out voltage of 27Vdc minimum, insulation resistance of 100MegOhms at 500Vdc, and a dielectric strength of 2500V rms minimum. The operating temperature range is -40°C up to +70°C.
The Walton Bee ‘WBC’ range of relays is polarised, non-latching and hermetically sealed. The components are nitrogen filled, feature an all welded construction and a balanced force armature. Benefiting from a nominal coil voltage of 24V dc, an operating time of 10ms maximum, a release time of 15ms maximum and a bounce time of 1ms maximum, the relays have been designed for a minimum of 100.000 operating cycles and an operating temperature range of -30°C up to +125°C.
The high-quality and long-life Walton Bee range of relays benefits from a high load capacity. A flexible design allows one up to four pole format, each of NO, NC or CO mode in up to 30 combinations. Each pole has a maximum current capacity of 20A. The maximum voltage per pole is 550V rms. The devices are mechanically interchangeable with the WaltonBee ‘M’ range and the Arrow ’28’ series but with M4 terminals. The adjustable stop ensures compliance with BRB Spec. TDE/G/77D/71 for vibration resistance and use with voltages up to 250V rms on rail rolling stock. The coils in this range are fully encapsulated and can be fitted with diodes for voltage surge suppression, ac/dc operation, or for reverse polarity protection, as required.
