A new high-reliability connector family has been released by Harwin. The company’s new ‘Gecko’ connectors include a low profile version in the form of the G125 series. These devices feature a 1.25mm pin spacing, which is said to enabe up to 35 percent space saving.
The connectors are rated to handle 2A per contact and are tested to allow high performance in extreme conditions, as a result the family of devices can operate within a wide temperature range
(-65 to 1500C) and under extreme vibration (Z axis 100g 6m/s). This high performance is said to be enabled by the company’s four-finger Copper Alloy contact.
Each device has up to 50 contacts per connector and is available in dual row cable-to-board and board-to-board configurations. The new family of connectors include polarisation points that prevent mis-mating.
