Cupio is constantly reviewing and refining its test and inspection product line-up; ensuring research, development, production and incoming inspection engineers always have access to comprehensive test solutions based on the latest and most effective technologies. As part of this process, the company is announcing two new test range additions: The Intepro Systems EL97 electronic load series, and ABI Electronics’ Advanced Test Module (ATM).

Intepro EL97 electronic load series

The AC-DC, DC-DC, battery, charger, adapter and other power electronics components essential to every electronic system must all be tested under load; the Intepro next-generation EL97 Electronic Loads fulfil this requirement ideally. They operate at the high speeds essential to meet the demanding transient and dynamic response characteristics of today’s PSUs while their responsive performance is matched by their flexibility and ease of use.

The EL97 series uses a state-of-the-art microprocessor design and a 16-bit DAC to simulate a wide range of dynamic loading conditions, battery discharge profiles, solar cell loading and fuel cell applications. It offers six modes of operation – Constant Current (CC), Constant Resistance (CR), Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Power (CW) as well as CC+CV and CR+CV combinations, to support a wide range of testing applications. Dual range 16-bit resolution measurements of voltage (V), current (I) and power (W) provide the accuracy of a DMM with the convenience of a single connection.

The EL97 loads integrate easily into automated test systems, while their user-friendly front panel allows equally simple operation as a standalone instrument. An Ethernet or USB interface is standard. All loads have power-up self-diagnostics with built-in calibration routines. Loads are fully protected against OP, OC, OV, OT and reverse polarity.

Special features of the EL97 series include a range of up to 999 measurements an hour, timed from 1 s to 16 Hrs. A CC mode soft start, programmable from 1 ms to 1000 ms, is available. Dynamic Pulsing from 0 to 25 kHz can be set up, with pulse widths from 60 µs to 999 s.  Duty cycles are also programmable. Models rated from 150 W to 6000 W, and 150 V to 500 V maximum voltage are available.

ABI Electronics System 8 Advanced Test Module (ATM)

The ATM allows testing of all logic assemblies, where the object can be anything from an in-circuit IC check to a complete PCB-level functional test. All logic families, including low-voltage and ECC types can be tested.

The ATM is a solution that offers advanced test capabilities and comprehensive fault diagnosis with a high degree of flexibility. Powerful test combinations ensure the best fault coverage on PCBs or components and include functional, connections, voltage, thermal and V-I signature checks. A sophisticated but easy to use system with minimum user input required ensures that components and PCBs are tested efficiently and faults are detected rapidly.

The ATM is controlled and accessed through the System 8 Premium software interface running in a PC Windows environment. Simple, focused operation is assured as the ATM is presented as five discrete instruments for testing and faultfinding. These include an Advanced IC Tester for library-driven functional testing, an Advanced Graphical Test Generator for custom functional testing, an Advanced IC Identifier for unknown or house-coded ICs, an Advanced Short Locator and an Advanced Board Checker for PCB board testing.

All common faults are detected through functional, voltage, connections, thermal and V-I tests. Power-on and power-off tests are also available. A TestFlow Manager is available for automated test sequences, while inexperienced users can perform tests with simple Pass/Fail results. Data logging capabilities are also included for traceability. The software environment is flexible, with user access control.

Cupio Yestech Europe’s international AOI training event

Cupio Yestech Europe’s contribution to yield enhancement springs from their commitment to Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) as well as their Test and Measurement product line. This is based on their longstanding relationship with Nordson YESTECH, manufacturer of market-leading AOI and AXI inspection systems.  Increasingly, their AOI coverage also includes their own complementary products, particularly the recently launched VuData Statistical Process Analyser package.

Cupio’s AOI activities throughout Europe and beyond are reflected in their international AOI training event, scheduled for mid-March in Aylesbury, UK. This four-day training course is for their representatives from Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, France, Hungary, Russia and Poland. It will be led by Kevin Garcia from Nordson Yestech USA, who throughout the course will be providing detailed coverage of both inline and benchtop systems.  Additionally, Ben Seviour, Yestech Europe’s Software & Support Technician will give a presentation on the new VuData Statistical Process Analyser software.
