The new CTX Thermal Solutions office building is ready for use. About 13 months after the groundbreaking ceremony, the custom cooling solutions specialist now has an additional 600 square meters at the company’s headquarters in Nettetal. With an investment of 2.5 million euros the company’s office space has been doubled.

CTX New Building cymk CTX doubles office space with new building in Nettetal: More room for exchange and sustainabilityThe new building embodies two key principles at CTX. One is social exchange, which makes the office building important as a meeting place. It combines conference rooms and a large cafeteria. The offices are spacious, with transparent glass walls, and the entire building is handicapped-accessible. Outdoors, there are four electric car charging stations, with the option of adding more parking spaces for electric cars. Next to the office wing, there is a lockable bicycle garage that doubles the capacity for parking of two-wheelers. This should motivate more employees to bike to work, especially as part of the CTX JobBike program.

Sustainability as a key principle

CTX intends to generate at least 70 percent of the electricity, as in the existing buildings. CTX also equipped the new administrative building with an eco-friendly heat pump and enlarged the existing photovoltaic system. The goal of the PV system is to supply 70 to 80 percent of the building’s electricity demand, which should be low since it meets the “40 plus” standard for energy-efficient buildings. This means that the building needs 60 percent less energy than a reference building according to the Building Energy Act. An automated lighting system adapts to the position of the sun. As a special feature, the ceiling lights are cooled with CTX solutions.

Provisions for future expansion

The new building marks the third expansion on the company grounds. Expansion had become necessary keeping up with the continuing growth of CTX in terms of sales and employees. The structure of the building offers the opportunity to add two more floors.
