Conrad Business Supplies has won the rights to distribute the German-made MicorStick battery-powered welding device and the MobilePower battery pack developed by supplier, Lorch Welding Technique.

Securing these two 2014 Federal Award winning products from Lorch increases Conrad’s portfolio to include a system that, for the first time, makes it possible to carry out welding operations independent of mains or generator power. This complements the existing range of Lorch products offered by Conrad Business Supplies for more than five years.

The electrode welder can be powered using 230V mains or the MobilePower battery pack. Its robust design guarantees fall protection from a height of up to 80cm. The welder comes with a number of carrying options including a standard strap, carry handles and a back pack solution.

The patented Micor inverter technology guarantees a stable welding arc for optimum results even when used on long lines up to 200m in length. Both MicorStick and MobilePower were recognised at the 2014 International Trade Fair in Munich for outstanding innovation and won the 2014 Federal Award.

“Adding Lorch’s award winning MicorStick and MobilePower to our product range allows us to provide a robust, quality product to our business customers that will benefit existing customers and open doors to new perspective ones,” said Jürgen Kreiner, product manager, Category Business Supplies, Conrad. “Having the ability to use a mains power supply or the high capacity battery pack shows the versatility of this product, and that will appeal to many of our customers.”
