WireMasters has appointed Chauvin Chhay as product manager, strengthening its product management expertise as it looks to expand its Harness Management & Protection (HMP) portfolio and support companies across the aerospace and defence industries.
Chhay joined WireMasters in April and is responsible for managing HMP products throughout their lifecycle. His role includes developing product strategy, monitoring inventory and demand, evaluating new product opportunities and working with internal teams to improve the performance of WireMasters’ HMP portfolio.
WireMasters supplies wire and cable, connectors, harness management, RF and fibre-optic products to aerospace, defence and industrial customers. Its HMP portfolio forms part of its wider interconnect offering, supporting companies looking to develop complete harness systems.
Chhay joins from TE Connectivity, where he was product manager for the legacy Raychem interconnect devices and harness components portfolios. He brings experience of working across engineering, operations, supply chain and global teams, as well as managing customer priorities during periods of supply and quality constraints.
“Working for a supplier gave me a deep understanding of the challenges involved in bringing together engineering, operations and supply chain to support customers,” said Chaay. “I can bring that supplier perspective to WireMasters, alongside technical knowledge of some of the biggest product groups within HMP. Moving into distribution also gives me the opportunity to develop a broader understanding of buying behaviours of the supply chain from beginning to end.”
By establishing a relationship with WireMasters at TE Connectivity, Chhay arrives with insight into the company’s relationships with manufacturers and customers along with its reputation within aerospace and defence.
Chhay will work with suppliers and the sales team to identify customer requirements, purchasing patterns and opportunities to expand the HMP portfolio, helping to increase awareness of the broader range of products available beyond wire and cable.
“My ultimate goal is to make it easier for customer to get the solutions they need,” Chhay said. “Whether that means brining more products into stock, improving inventory availability or identifying new opportunities, I want to use a collaborative and data-driven approach to improve the customer experience.”
Chhay’s immediate priorities will focus on understanding WireMasters’ products, suppliers, customers and value-added services, while identifying opportunities to improve product availability and expand the HMP offering.
