Astute Group has signed a franchise distribution agreement with Samwha Capacitor Group, adding Samwha’s range of capacitors, energy storage components, ferrite products, inductors and transformer technologies to its portfolio. The agreement gives Astute customers an authorised route to Samwha components across a broad range of electronic, industrial, automotive and energy applications.

The appointment adds Samwha’s established passive and magnetic component portfolio to Astute’s franchised distribution offering ahead of Electronica 2026, where Astute and Samwha will both exhibit in Munich from 10–13 November.

Samwha Capacitor Group comprises five affiliated companies, with 11 factories and 17 sales offices across its global network.

Samwha expands Astute’s passive component portfolio

The Samwha Capacitor portfolio includes multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC), disc ceramic capacitors, varistors, power capacitors and capacitor banks, DC-Link capacitors and snubber capacitors, electric double layer capacitors (EDLC), conductive polymer hybrid capacitors and aluminium electrolytic capacitors. Its MLCC range includes standard, soft termination, open mode and floating mode products, while its disc ceramic range covers temperature-compensating, high-voltage, AC-voltage and ultra-high-voltage types. Samwha’s EDLC range supports energy storage and backup applications, conductive polymer hybrid capacitors offer low ESR and high ripple-current capability. Astute customers can also access Samwha’s transformer and inductor products and EMI components through the group portfolio.

Samwha’s power capacitor range includes products for power-factor correction and other power applications, with its specified low-voltage power capacitor range covering capacitance from 0.2 to 50kvar and rated voltages from 220 to 1,000 V.

Astute and Samwha at Electronica 2026

The new partnership will also be presented at Electronica 2026 in Munich from 10–13 November, where Astute and Samwha will both exhibit.

The event provides an opportunity for engineers to discuss Samwha’s capacitor, energy storage, ferrite, inductor and transformer ranges alongside Astute’s wider franchised component portfolio.

Jon Sypula, supplier business manager at Astute Group, comments: “Adding Samwha gives Astute another broad passive component portfolio to support design and sourcing decisions. The range across capacitors, energy storage and magnetic components means customers can address several parts of a design through one authorised distribution relationship, with product and technical requirements assessed on an individual basis.”
