Having started life as a small workshop in Switzerland in 1892, the specialist mechatronics manufacturer Stäubli is celebrating its 125th anniversary. Since its beginnings in the weaving trade, and a subsequent move into quick couplings, the company has grown into a multinational developer and manufacturer in the fields of connectors, robotics and textiles.

Still owned by its original founding family, Stäubli produces products that are particularly used in robotics and industrial automation, offering a wide range of electrical and fluid connectors, including state-of-the-art robotic tool changers.

This year has seen a strengthening of the Stäubli brand, with a number of companies within the group adopting the Stäubli name. This includes Multi-Contact, which in the UK is based in Milton Keynes and changed its name to Stäubli Electrical Connectors.

“Passionate inventing and the demand for highest quality, coupled with reliability, customer focus and a strategy based on long-term commitments are values that have been passed on in the Stäubli family for generations, with the goal to be able to hand a modern and healthy company over to successive generations,” said Rolf Strebel, CEO of the Stäubli Group.
